Ferrosilicon 70 72 75 FeSi Ferro Silicon for Reducing Agent in Ferroalloy Production
75# Ferro Silicon is commonly used in the Pidgeon process for the high-temperature smelting of metallic magnesium to replace magnesium from CaO.MgO. About 1.2 tons of Ferro Silicon 75 are consumed for every ton of metallic magnesium produced, playing a significant role in the production of metallic magnesium.
Other applications. Finely ground or atomized ferrosilicon powder can be used as a suspended phase in the mineral processing industry. It can also be used as a coating for welding electrodes in the welding rod manufacturing industry. High-silicon ferrosilicon can be used in the chemical industry to manufacture silicone products.
Among these applications, the steelmaking industry, casting industry, and ferroalloy industry are the largest users of FeSi ferrosilicon, consuming over 90% of ferrosilicon. Among different grades of Ferro Silicon Lumps, 75% ferrosilicon is currently the most widely used. In the steelmaking industry, about 3-5 kg of 75% ferrosilicon is consumed for every 1t of steel produced.
